The winter timetable for the Euskotren rail and underground service comes into force on Monday 7 September
- The timetables are adapted to meet passengers’ travel needs at this time of year.
Euskotren, the public-owned company under the Basque Government’s Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, will implement the winter timetable for its rail and underground (Metro line 3 in Bilbao) services next Monday.
After the end of the summer holiday period and things gradually returning to normal, the timetable change will come into force on all the railway and underground lines on 7 September. The change is aimed at adapting the times and frequencies to the travel needs mainly for educational or work purposes. Therefore, extra trains will also be put on during the morning rush hour, along with the winter timetable.
As a new feature in Gipuzkoa, and now that the new Altza-Galtzaraborda section is open, the Saturday night services will be improved between San Sebastián and Hendaye, and the trains will be more frequent between Amara (San Sebastián) and Errenteria and Oiartzun at weekends.
The lines run by Euskotren are as follows:
• E1 Amara/Donostia-Matiko/Bilbao.
• E2 Hendaia-Lasarte Oria + Amara - Pasaia
• E3 Kukullaga/Etxebarri-Lezama
• L3 Metro en Bilbao: Kukullaga/Etxebarri-Matiko/Bilbao.
• E4 Matiko/Bilbao-Bermeo.
• Lanzadera Sondika-Lutxana.
Euskotren recommends that passengers planning to travel by train or underground check the times in advance using the official APP or the search engine on the www.euskotren.eus website. Further information is also available by calling 943 333 333 and at the Euskotren staffed stations.
