Euskotren to run a special rail, underground and tramway service during Bilbao’s Aste Nagusia festivities

Euskoten will put on an extended day and night rail, underground (L3) and tramway service during Bilbao’s Aste Nagusia week of festivities between 22 and 30 August.

Specifically, more overground and underground trains will be put on in both directions to cover the following sections:

• E1 Matiko/Bilbao-Deba.
• E3 Kukullaga/Etxebarri-Lezama.
• E4 Matiko/Bilbao-Bermeo.
• L3 underground line in Bilbao (Matiko/Bilbao – Kukullaga/Etxebarri).

In the case of the Bilbao tramway, a special night service will be run in addition to the usual one. However, the trams may be affected by some of the activities on the festive programme that will cause specific disruptions.

Thus, several services along the Atxuri-Pío Baroja section will be disrupted and the following changes made:

• From 22 to 30 August: The service will not run in either direction between Atxuri and Pío Baroja between 5.13 p.m. and 8.58 the next day. 

• Saturday 22 August Due to the Athletic Club – Sevilla FC football match at San Mamés on Saturday 22 August, the service will be disrupted in both directions on the Euskalduna and La Casilla section between 4.25 p.m. and 5.10 p.m., and between 6.35 p.m. and 7.25 p.m. The last departure from Bolueta to Pío Baroja will also be at 4.07 p.m. In the other direction, the last departure from Pío Baroja to Atxuri will be a 3.58 p.m.

• Evenings from 23 to 30 August: The last departure from Bolueta to Pío Baroja will be at 5.07 p.m. In the other direction, the last departure from Pío Baroja to Atxuri will be at 4.58 p.m. 

• Nights from 22 to 29 August: The tramway service will not run during the fireworks, between approximately 10.27 p.m. and 10.57 p.m.

Euskotren recommends that passengers planning to travel by train, subway or tram, during the week from 22 to 30 August, check the times in advance using the official APP or the search engine on www.euskotren.eus website.
