The Vitoria-Gasteiz tramway service not operating between Parlamento and Angulema from 10 August to 6 September

• The disruption is due to the civil infrastructure works that ETS will be carrying in the General Álava and Independencia streets. 

Euskotren will not be operating the Vitoria-Gasteiz tramway service between the Parlamento and Angulema stops from next Monday, 10 August, to 6 September. The usual service will run on the remainder of the lines, with both stops being the terminus. The disruption is due to the civil infrastructure works that ETS will be carrying out in General Álava and Independencia, the streets which form the common section of the city’s tramway.

As has already been announced, ETS will undertake the most important work to the General Álava and Independencia track pavement after La Blanca festivities, when the city is quieter. The service is planned to return to normal in early September, which is the start of the school term for most students. However, Euskotren and ETS will endeavour to bring that date forward if the weather conditions are favourable. 

The intervention is the outcome of the agreement reached with the City Council to improve the integration of the different private and public means of transport in the main shopping area of the city centre. Accordingly, the intention is to lay uniform paying through the area where the work is to be carried out. A section of both thoroughfares will also be replaced at the junction of the Independencia, General Álava and Fueros streets, and around 20 maintenance holes will be repaired. 

From September, and once the tramway service is back to normal, the work will focus on the pedestrian pavements in the area adjacent to the track pavement, as the works are scheduled to continue until the end of the year. ETS will endeavour to ensure that the local residents and businesses are affected as little as possible.
