Euskotren’s summer timetable for all its rail, subway and Bilbao tramway lines starts on 22 June
- Extra trains will be put on to cover the increase in demand for travel to coastal destinations
- The Bilbao tramway will run every 15 minutes in summer
On Monday 22 June, Euskotren, a publicly-owned company under the Basque Government’s Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, will start running its summer timetable on all its rail (E1, E2, E3, E4 and E5) and subway (L3) lines. The Bilbao tramway timetable will also change on that day, with trams every 15 minutes in both directions.
With the arrival of summer, Euskotren is adapting its service to meet the season’s travel needs. Extra trains will therefore be put on make it easier to travel to the coastal towns and their beaches, with more trains in Debabarrena for easier access to Deba beach. There will also be more services at weekends and on bank holidays to Urdaibai (Bilbao-Bermeo line), Kostaldea (Donostia-Zumaia) and on the Topo (San Sebastián’s underground/overground suburban railway) to Donostia/San Sebastián (Irun-/Amara and Altza/Amara). In the case of the Topo line, changes will be made to the train service from 18 July, due to the opening of the Altza-Galtzaraborda section.
The timetable of the train-bus shuttle service between the station and Usansolo Hospital will also change, with the bus arrivals and departures adapted to the train times.
