Euskotren, the publicly-owned company under the Basque Government’s Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, will run altered rail, Bilbao tram and Larreineta funicular services on 24, 25 and 31 December for the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day festivities.
On the evenings of 24 and 31 December, Euskotren will adapt the timetable to the Christmas festivities and end its services earlier on all its raill lines, on the Bilbao tramway and the Larreineta funicular railway. The services will also start later in the morning on 25 December and 1 January and will stop at midday for the family lunches. The service will return to normal from approximately 5.00 p.m.
These changes to the service will affect the following lines:
• E1 Matiko/Bilbao – Amara/Donostia-San Sebastián (General line + shuttle bus to Usansolo Hospital)
• E2 Lasarte/Oria - Hendaye (Topo Line)
• E3 Lezama - Kukullaga/Etxebarri (Txorierri)
• E4 Bermeo-Matiko/Bilbao (Urdaibai)
• E5 Altza – Amara/Donostia-San Sebastián
• Larreineta funicular railway
• Bilbao tramway
The underground service on Line 3 of the Metro in Bilbao will also stop for four hours for the dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. It will then start up again and the service will run all night.
