Euskotren to put on extra trains for the Behobia - San Sebastián race on Sunday 9 November

Body

Euskotren, the publicly-owned company of the Basque Government’s Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, will run more trains on 9 November to cover the increase in passengers due to the Behobia – San Sebastián race.

The main purpose of the special train service will be to take competitors to the race start. Trains will run to the Ficoba/Irun station, where there will be shuttle buses to transport the runners.

The special rail service will be on the following lines:

• E2 Lasarte Oria – Hendaye – Lasarte Oria.
• E1 Zumaia – Amara/San Sebastián – Zumaia.

The service schedule will be as follows:

- E2 Lasarte Oria – Hendaye – Lasarte Oria:

There will be trains between every 10 and 15 minutes on the Amara/San Sebastián - Hendaye - Amara/San Sebastián section to meet the increased demand particularly prior to the start of the race.

There will be trains every 30 minutes from Lasarte/Oria with an additional service at 7.40 hours.

- E1 Zumaia – Amara/San Sebastián – Zumaia:

There will be two extra trains for the morning service from Zumaia (departing at 7.42 and 8.42 hours), which will take passengers from Ficoba/Irun without needing to change trains as normal at Amara/San Sebastián. The trains will run every 30 minutes in the afternoon.

Euskotren recommends that anybody planning to travel by train on 9 November checks the times in advance using the official APP or the search engine on the www.euskotren.eus website. Further information is also available by calling 943 333 333 and at the Euskotren staffed stations.
