Changes to Euskotren’s tramway and Line 3 subway services in Bilbao during Easter and for the Athletic-Rangers match

Body

Euskotren, a company under the Basque Government’s Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, is to alter its tramway and Line 3 of the subway in Bilbao for the Easter celebrations and the Athletic-Rangers match (Thursday 17 April).

BILBAO TRAMWAY

There will be changes to the Euskotren tramway service in Bilbao both on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 April, for the Holy Week processions and the Europa League match to be played at the San Mamés stadium on the 17th.

On Thursday 17th, the service will not run between the Arriaga and Pio Baroja stops, from 7.45 p.m. to 9.45 p.m. approximately, during the Last Supper Procession.

The Athletic-Rangers match, with kick-off at 9.00 p.m. at San Mamés stadium, will involve two disruptions to the tramway service, given the large crowds expected around San Mamés:

• Between the Pío Baroja and La Casilla stops from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

• At the end of the match, there will be a partial disruption to the tramway service between La Casilla and Euskalduna, lasting approximately 20/30 minutes, to guarantee the safety of the fans as they leave the stadium.  That disruption is included in the Municipal Emergency Plan coordinated by Bilbao City Council.

On Friday 18th, the tramway service will not run along the Arriaga - Pío Baroja section between 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. approximately during the Procession of the Holy Burial.

L3 SUBWAY LINE

The service on Line 3 of the subway in Bilbao, managed by Euskotren and whose transit point with Lines 1 and 2 of Metro Bilbao is at the Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo Station, will be altered over Easter, from 17 to 21 April.

The main details of the Line 3 service during Easter are as follows:
